Taberner Syrah 2019

A commanding single-varietal Spanish Syrah from the sun-baked, wind-cooled vineyards of Cádiz, hand-harvested, carefully sorted, and aged for a full 24 months in French oak by the team at Huerta de Albalá.

Deep, intense cherry-red in colour, the nose is richly Mediterranean: ripe red fruit, balsamic notes, warm spice, carob, and the roasted, smoky character that comes from two years in barrel. On the palate, it is smooth and powerful, flavourful and full, with excellent balance, good acidity, and a finish that is persistent and full of character.

This is a Spanish red wine built for the long table, the kind of bottle you open with time to spare and something worth celebrating.

Food pairing: Slow-roasted beef, game, or truffle dishes.
